Managing Partner at Brentwood Search, Marcia has had a long and successful career in the entertainment industry and brings that expertise to the firm’s retained search practice. She specializes in placing senior executives into entertainment, Internet, digital technology, consumer product and healthcare companies. She has worked extensively with companies experiencing high growth, startups, and turnaround.

Before founding Brentwood Search, Marcia spent nine years as a Partner at Steinbrun Hughes and Associates, where she placed senior professionals into Fortune 500, middle market and startup companies, including The Walt Disney Company, Ticketmaster, DirecTV, Avery Dennison, Activision, Fandango, and Indomina Media. She has also placed numerous “C” level executives into private equity backed portfolio companies. 

Prior to her work in executive search, Marcia spent over a decade at Spelling Television. As Senior Vice President of the company she oversaw the development and production of Series, Movies and Miniseries. She was responsible for groundbreaking series, including Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place, and took Spelling Television from zero to seven concurrent primetime series.  She also headed Spelling Premiere Network, the company’s entry into the television syndication market. She oversaw the development and production of the Emmy Award winning HBO movie, And the Band Played On, during her tenure at Spelling. In 1995 the Hollywood Reporter named Marcia as one of the “Power 50” women in the entertainment industry.

Early in her career, she gained network television experience as a dramatic series executive at ABC Entertainment, where she was the original executive on Dynasty and Battlestar Galactica, among others. She spent time in the casting department at CBS Television Network and at Warner Bros. feature film division. During the early days of the Internet, Marcia marketed one of the first live video streaming sites, and she headed business development for RightsLine, an online content licensing company. Subsequently she worked as a rainmaker, heading worldwide business development and alliances for Sophoi, a provider of enterprise rights management solutions to the entertainment studios. Marcia has served on the Executive Committee and Awards Committee of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has been a member of the American Film Institute.   .
